The Maddy Institute to Host 9th Annual Sacramento Event

19May

Sacramento, CA – On Monday, May 22, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., The Maddy Institute will be hosting its annual fundraising event in support of its various programs, including the Bob Beverly Sacramento Legislative Intern Program, which provides San Joaquin Valley students the opportunity to work in legislative offices of both parties at the State Capitol over the Summer. The event will be held in-person at the California Museum.

This is a unique and great opportunity to meet and hear from former, current, and future policymakers in Sacramento as well as learn more about the Valley’s leading public policy and affairs institute.

Former Speaker and San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. will MC the event and the co-chairs of the California Problem Solvers Caucus (Senator Scott Wilk, Senator Josh Newman, Assemblyman Carlos Villapudua, and Assemblyman Heath Flora) will be featured speakers. The following State Legislators will also be in attendance:

  • Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil
  • Senator Shannon Grove
  • Senator Melissa Hurtado
  • Assemblyman Juan Alanis
  • Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula
  • Assemblywoman Laurie Davies
  • Assemblyman Vince Fong
  • Assemblyman Devon Mathis
  • Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria

The remarkable guest list is testimony to the high regard everyone had for Senator Ken Maddy. It is critically important to carry on the Maddy principles of approachability, respect, and trustworthiness (A.R.T.) with the current and future leaders of our region.

For those interested in attending, please visit the Institute’s Annual Sacramento Event website page to register. Sponsorship opportunities are available, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.
