Andrew Bishop interned in the Fall of 2009 at the Fresno office of Senate Majority Leader Dean Florez and in the Summer of 2010 at the office of former Congressman George Radanovich in D.C.
After earning his undergraduate degree in Political Science, Andrew pursued a Masters in Arts of Teaching and worked in the juvenile correction systems, working with various law enforcement agencies in Fresno County.
After serving his internship, Andrew served as the Social Service Department Chair at La Joya Middle School in Visalia and is currently the Assistant Principal at El Diamante High School in Visalia.
The Maddy Institute Internship Program helped me greatly in the development of my skills to help the community and constituents alike. By going through two internships at the state and federal level, I was able to develop skills in public relations that I use daily in my role as an assistant principal at the high school level. The interactions with the public and the “on the job” experiences through the internships were highly valuable and critical to where I am now.
